- Hi guys 'n gals,
-
- ** PLEASE REPLY BY E-MAIL, WE DON'T GET THIS COMP.MAIL.ELM AT THIS SITE. **
-
- I am looking for a workaround for a problem in filter.
- Basically the whole problem lies in the fact that we have stupid user
- names here, with underscores. This means that when I try to use an
- exec rule, with any program or script in my personal directory tree,
- the path gets split with a space where all the underscores were.
-
- eg:
-
- ( subject "backup" ) exec /home/ln_smr/bin/backup.report
-
- gets interpreted as:
- Rule 1: if (subject = "backup") then
- Execute /home/ln smr/bin/backup.report
-
- which results in the error "/home/ln: file not found"
-
- funny that.
-
- So, if anyone knows a workaround for this problem, which doesn't
- involve me getting a new user name or home directory (I have already
- tried) could you please let me know. I really don't want all my cron
- outputs in my mailbox every morning :-)
-
- thanks in advance
