  15.     I am looking for a workaround for a problem in filter.
  16. Basically the whole problem lies in the fact that we have stupid user
  17. names here, with underscores. This means that when I try to use an
  18. exec rule, with any program or script in my personal directory tree,
  19. the path gets split with a space where all the underscores were.

  21. eg:

  23. ( subject "backup" ) exec /home/ln_smr/bin/backup.report
  24.  
  25. gets interpreted as:
  26. Rule 1:  if (subject = "backup") then
  27.       Execute /home/ln smr/bin/backup.report
  28.  
  29. which results in the error "/home/ln: file not found"
  30.  
  31. funny that.

  33. So, if anyone knows a workaround for this problem, which doesn't
  34. involve me getting a new user name or home directory (I have already
  35. tried) could you please let me know. I really don't want all my cron
  36. outputs in my mailbox every morning :-)
