  18. i posted an article with the "compile" Problem:

  27. after i received some mail, saying that there was no such problem on system xyz
  28. i finaly traced the error down:

  30. i configured and compiled patchlevel 0 of elm 2.4 first , to see if it would compile on 
  31. our machine, which left a config.sh file i didn't removed.
  32. Then i applied all 20 patches and configured again. This time Configure used the settings 
  33. from the previous configuration. Since Patch 3 deals with utimbuf definition, and
  34. the PL0 requires an #undefine NOUTIMBUF if utimbuf of the system IS used,
  35. i got the wrong PRE-definition in the new Configuration.

  41. Was/is it common sense, that only those msgs should be fed to the (external) pager if
  42. it's linecount would cause scrolling the screen? 
  43. Used to 2.3 were ALL msgs were fed to the external pager, it was very - hm, inconsistent- 
  44. to see a few msgs in a row by typing <down_arrow> and suddenly getting stoped at the end of 
  45. a long msg and having to type "q".

  47. [i know i should use the buildin, but i love to be able to scroll back in long msgs]
