  19. I have done some programming using Perl and wafe, and one of the annoying
  20. parts of it, IMHO, is that the interface to the widgets has to be done in
  21. tcl. If I want to do a widget specific call, I have to to do it in tcl. If
  22. you want to attach an action to a certain event, you have to do it in
  23. tcl. Of course you can make a workaround by having wafe echo a string to
  24. STDOUT which is picked up by Perl, which then does the processing, and
  25. sends back the finished result to wafe (through tcl commands). Indeed I have 
  26. done this in my xwe editor so that you can write Perl actions. But I still 
  27. wish I didn't  have to touch tcl at all.

  29. I wish for a version of wafe which has perl as its engine instead of
  30. tcl. Perhaps that will be feasible with Perl 5.0.
