- What is inane bickering to one is food for thought to another.

- Wouldn't it be far more productive to discuss something Forth-related
- that to try to censor a particular discussion in a USENET newsgroup?
- (ESPECIALLY one that is actually RELATED to the newsgroup?)
-
- Just because a particular thread or manner of discussion doesn't
- appeal to you does not mean it doesn't appeal to others. There were
- more than 2 people involved in that specific discussion and it's
- longevity MIGHT mean that it had something to communicate. Probably
- not (as with most USENET traffic), but what the hell... this is what
- USENET is for...a FREE FLOW of ideas.
-
- My news reader has a kill file, and I suggest you investigate yours.
- If you want to spend time trying to tailor any particular newsgroup to just
- the traffic you'de like to see... well, hell, go ahead. It's
- your time.
-
- As I traipse across the wide expanse of near-meaningless
- tripe that is USENET, I find everything from gun control discussed in
- computer groups to politics being discussed everywhere. I have actually
- found comp.lang.forth to be quite excellent in this regard... almost
- 100% of the messages actually deal with Forth. SO how can you jump on any
- one thread and declare it some kind of a problem?

- This surprises me because overall, I think the communications that
- happen in c.l.f are some of the most respectful on the net. I can't
- remember the confrontation level ever really getting above "mild
- argument". C'mon, people! Don't be put off by a little interaction.
-
- I don't see name-calling or rumour-spreading in progress. I don't
- see grudges or even one constant ongoing personality clash. I think
- this is a pretty good group, and I certainly don't want to inhibit
- creativity. (That's probably why I love Forth).
