  15.   A recent (late 80's) study: "Communicating, or Just Making
  16.   Pretty Shapes?", Colin Wheildon. It's a survey of how readable
  17.   various fonts and layouts are in newspapers and magazines.

  19.   The guy had the same problem as the originator of this thread,
  20.   in that while there is lots of accepted wisdom, there isn't
  21.   much hard evidence. He ended up having to do the research
  22.   himself.

  24.   Unfortunately it is put out by the Newspaper Advertisers of
  25.   Australia, not exactly a well known global publisher. I'll
  26.   try and find out more if anyone is interested.
