  14. I am attempting to find out if the marching cubes alg. is patented.
  15. I have a client that would like to use it in a commerical piece.

  20. [ Moderator's Note: Yes, there is a software patent on the technique used in
  21. the original Marching Cubes paper. I am not sure who holds it. There are other
  22. isosurface routines that have similar results or are improvements on MC,
  23. but I don't have references handy. I will try with difficulty to restrain
  24. myself from commenting on the effectiveness and worth of software patents
  25. in general. - JRM ]
