  12. To render just the shadows, try placing objects in the following manner:
  13.      Light source -----> Plants -----> Camera -----> (Shadows)
  14. I don't know if this will create the effect you are looking for, but it will
  15. show you just the shadows...  You are no longer looking at the plants from the
  16. front.  The camera stays where it is, aimed in the same direction, but the
  17. plants get moved toward the light source (behind the camera) so they are no
  18. longer in sight.
