  15. ok.. I've done my own digging and come up empty. Now an appeal to the net.

  17. I'm looking for a PD/shareware/free-in-some-form layout package that 
  18. runs, at minimum on SGI Irises, and ideally, is X-based. 
  19.  
  20. By layout, I don't mean anything as fancy as Aldus PageMaker. Just something
  21. that can read in several images in a reasonable way, do some dynamic
  22. resizing, cropping, cut 'n paste, rotation, perhpas a few simple editing
  23. features, like color replacement, balancing, and maybe a little 
  24. titling/caption ability.

  26. Nothing too fancy. Postscript would be lovely, not absolutely required.
  27. A nice GUI would be a plus as well, since the primary users will be 
  28. scientists putting together transparencies for talks, etc.

  30. I've seen NCSA's Layout and Image software, and while it's the right spirit,
  31. it's the wrong platform.
