  37. Please excuse my ignorance in technical questions, but what is hint replace-
  38. ment? Are there any other technicalities to look for in a font besides that
  39. and hinting?
  40. And while I'm at it: Commercial grade fonts aren't always what they're cracked
  41. up to be. Take a look at Adobe's Joanna Regular, e.g., apart from the 
  42. aesthetics, which obviously are debatable, this font has gruesome kerning. It
  43. is of a quality I'd expect from Shareware fonts and still I would be dis-
  44. appointed. But hey - I paid money for that one, since I believe in buying
  45. fonts. So, what I was looking for, is a cheaper alternative with still good
  46. quality and I am looking into DTC right now...
