- I have just whipped up a reasonable TrueType Russian font using
- fontographer, the "Courier New" in windows, and my old Russian
- typewriter. The characters are defined to match the CRS tables
- of Russian characters, which as far as I can tell match the
- KOI-8 standard used in the former Soviet Union.
-
- If this group has some preferred FTP site, I'd be happy to zap
- this font up, although I'm not sure if it would be 100% legal
- to send the English characters, since they're copyrighted. Alternately,
- I could create a "Russian-only" version with just my characters.
-
- Anyhow, now that I have a font editor, I plan to create an entire
- library of English-Russian fonts, based on the standard families and
- some of the nicer Russian familes (like "Izvestia," "25th Party Congress,"
- and "CPSU.") Ant interest out there? Any place to archive this
- stuff?
