  15. Seems to me a semi-purpose-built architecture for programmable DSP
  16. filters would be a very useful alternative to either DSP processors
  17. or totally custom design, at least in applications where the _type_
  18. of filter to be used doesn't need to be maleable.  Potentially, the
  19. performance, density, and/or cost could be better than the other
  20. available approaches.

  22. On the other hand, custom design with the right automation could be
  23. made to be easy enough that it's not an issue for large production runs.
  24. There is still the problem of development and prototyping, but this
  25. could be done in other ways.
