- I have used both MNP5 modems (Microcom AX2424C) and software MNP4/5
- implementations, and it turned out that they are both as reliable, but
- that the software implementations are slower than the hardware
- implementations. This is of course also dependent of the computer u
- use (I used a 386/25mhz). The fact that a certain modem comes with MNP
- software would be NO reason for me to buy THAT modem, as there is a
- share/free-ware terminal program available that does just that. I
- wouldn't be surprised if that is the software that accompanies the
- modem, as the makers of the software sell it as OEM software. As far
- as I can remember the software is called MTE or MTEZ, and it might be
- available at your favorite BBS or otherwise somewhere at the Matrix.
