- The Banyan Vines network software uses ATI0 together with a few other commands
- to figure out which dial-in modem is connected to the server. Once it knows
- the modem type, it sends configuration commands to the modem, and waits for
- calls. If the server can't figure out the modem type, it won't answer calls
- on that port. You're S.O.L. for server-to-server file transfers, bridges
- between networks, or dial-in access to the network. You can set the software
- to treat the port as a leased line, but then it won't sense disconnections
- and won't auto-dial for you.
-
- The most recent version of C-Kermit uses ATI0 for the same purpose.
