  11. Could someone please explain to me the reasons for putting MNP5 into
  12. hardware instead of software?  Are there strong reasons to reject a
  13. 2400 bps modem if MNP5 is implemented only in the companion software
  14. that comes with the modem?  The modem would be used on a poor-quality
  15. phone line.
