- JL>The tech manager claimed that SupraFAXModem V.32bis has a 90-95% custo
- JL>satisfaction ratio. I would like to take a straw poll via email. Sen
- JL>me a yea or nay on whether you'd have bought a Supra, if you knew then
- JL>what you know now. Given your yea or nay, do you plan to buy more SFM
- JL>based on the performance of the one(s) you have?
- JL>
- JL>I will acknowledge that the net is not representative of the buying

- JL>do other net.readers assess the quality of Supra's V.32bis faxmodem,
- JL>and the quality of Supra's technical support? Post here, preferably.
- JL>E-mail responses will be summarized.

- Well I have bought two of them and returned one! The first an internal,
- worked fine on all 14.4 boards I called getting the appropriate download
- speeds etc. But it would not connect to Compuserve at 2400. It would just
- hang up as soon as the remote modem answered. After several faxes to and
- from Supra (who were fairly responsive), it was determined the modem was
- faulty and I returned it to the dealer for another. This one also will not
- connect to CIS using either Terminal, Procomm/Windows or Procomm/Plus.
- However it will connect using CIM, either from DOS or a Windowed DOS
- session. It must be some setting somewhere but I don't know what it is.
- I also bought an external for a friend. It worked fine out of the box
- connecting with no problems to CIS. However, the transformer does get a
- bit hot and he is experiencing busy detect problems occasionally.
- On the whole, I am happy. Their TS is OK (don't try to call them) and the
- modems do the job. And the price is right (I paid $219 for the internal
- and $279 for the external).
