  12. You may have read a memo, supposedly written by USR President and Chairman
  13. Casey Cowell, which announces the release of the USR 'tri-standard' modem.

  15. The document was not written by Mr. Cowell nor has USR announced such a
  16. modem.

  18. The memo, dated Jan. 15, 1992, purports that a new modem capable of
  19. 39600 bps rates has been released.  It contains a great deal of text
  20. buffered from our BBS system and has been posted primarily in Europe and
  21. Germany where it appears it originated.

  23. USRobotics typically announces new products in press releases issued by
  24. our public relations department.
