- You haven't stated which device you use to connect to the modem. This is
- important as the type of flow control is determined by the device.
- I myself run a 1496E V5.3c on a NeXTstation (040) and have absolutely no
- problem at 38.4k! You ought to use device cuf(a,b) for HW-flow control and
- better set full speed of your port since both modem and computer support
- this speed and should make best use of their buffer memory at full speed.
- In my case the ZyXEL worked right out of the box with this setting. The
- proper cabling is described in the NeXT manuals that come with the
- machine.

- Modem transmit speed is in any case no reason to choose the speed of
- async-port accordingly (as long as it is high enough, of cause).
