  14. I'm currently looking for a reasonably fast, cheap modem. 
  15. The modem will mainly be used for uucp transfers under Linux.

  17. Today I got an offer from Direct Micro - they have a range
  18. of 14.4 V.32bis faxmodems from the vendors mentioned in the
  19. subject line. They all cost $199 (internal) and $250-$300
  20. (external).

  22. Does anyone have information on these modems, internal vs. 
  23. external, and/or more general modem buying advice ?

  25. Any information is greatly appreciated.
