  12. hi. i've read a TON of the messages on this board -0 it's great
  13.  for someone who knows very little about modems.  all i knew was
  14.  my 1200 has worked for a long time, and i quickly learned
  15.  what things i want, etc.  anyhow, i was told that supra was
  16.  good, until i read everything going on with supra, and
  17.  their problems with the modem.  so...having said that...

  20. i had previously decided that i wanted, above all, these
  21.  conditions:  14,400 bps, with v32 bis/v42 bis, with fax
  22.  capability (and the appropriate software), a warranty
  23.  for more than 3 years, and other things being optional.
  24.  but ability NOT to crash for unknown reasons is  a major
  25.  thing for me, right behind the warranty and the external factor.

  27. so zyxel seems to me, from reading everything, to be the
  28.  modem to buy.  my 2 questions:

  30. 1) what is wrong with it, if anything?
  31.  2) how can someone (on the list i saw on the net) be able to afford
  32.  to sell it for $339 when the ad in computer shopper lists it for
  33.  $469?
