- As I have commented before on this issue. There is not a recognized agreement on
- the folowwing terms from your request:

- 1) good
- 2) data dictionary

- Given the lack of agreement it masy be necessary to start withthe specification
- of what you want your "data dictionary" to accomplish for what audiance.

- Active dictionary? Passive?

- Many environments or a single environment? (OP sys, DB, communications software,
- Languages etc.)

- Get any group of "qualified" professionals together and ask them to describe a
- datadictionary. Expect at least N+1 descriptions for every group of N participants.
