  16. 1.  What version of the DBMS are you using?
  17. 2.  Was it a hot or cold backup?
  18. 3.  Do you have archive logging?
  19. 4.  Do you have an export and was it carried out in DBA mode?
  20. 5.  Which file failed the verification check?
  21. 6.  Did you lose ALL the control files?
  22. 7.  Did you restore an OLD Control file?
  23. 8.  Has the database structure changed since you last carried out the backup?
  24. 9.  How long ago did you last carried out the backup?
  25.  
  26. and a whole lot more information if you are to get correct answers.
