- Like you, I choke on the price of TDBS. The minimum package is for 16 lines
- systems. I've bought it once to put together a commercial system and didn't
- have any problem justifying the money there. I wish there was a cheaper
- version for two to four lines. I'd rather use TDBS than external doors.
- The tradeoff is faster code and many phone lines on one machine (with
- TBBS/TDBS) vs. lower cost for code and increased cost of running many
- phone lines with RA type systems.
-
- Your prices seem a little high. How many lines are you talking about?

-
- Exactly 60,000 messages for a maximum. Again there are TDBS workarounds,
- but I think Phil should do something about this. Yes, the 15,762,961
- topic areas (not exactly message areas) can be used for netmail. However,
- you have to use the TMail utilities instead of eSoft's mail utilities.
- I bitched for a couple of months about this until I finally got the reply
- that there were no plans for topic board support in the mail utilities and
- that I should use the TMail utilities. My position is that eSoft utilities
- should support eSoft advertised features. Oh well, at least I found a way.

-
- The tradeoff is that the beta test programs are pretty intense (said from
- experience) and the code is very stable when released. The difference
- between the first and second versions of TDBS was pretty incredible and
- a direct result of user whining.
-
- Yeah, Phil sure seems to drag his feet a lot. I want the UUCP Option
- Module released YESTERDAY :-)
