- I am looking for a file viewer, but I desire some features I haven't
- been able to find:
-
- -- Ability to load files larger than memory, up to about 2 megabyte
- -- Ability to exit a file and return to the same place in it later
- -- Ability to paste characters from screen into buffer as program
- exits
-
- (Hmm, TSR might be nice too, to decrease disk access since it could
- keep the file open. This might be necessary, too, for the keyboard
- stuffing bit..)
-
- My desire is to be able to browse files such as the listings of SIMTEL
- and Garbo while in an interactive FTP session. Currently, I have a
- key in my terminal set to execute list on a certain file. This works
- okay, except that if I return briefly to the terminal to do a command
- in FTP, I have to find the spot I need to return to. This is an
- annoyance.
-
- If there's a way to accomplish this with list, I would be overjoyed to
- hear about it.. Otherwise, I would like pointers to a file somewhere
- in the world of FTP..
-
- Mail is preferred, I'll summarize the responses I get.
