  20. Yours are good questions.  The file lists are sufficient, however,
  21. since it is easy to download the indexing program from SIMTEL20
  22. wherever you are located.  You only need to download it once, while
  23. the file indexes are updated on a regular basis.  That is a crucial
  24. difference.

  26. To be honest, one of the reasons (but not the only one) why I want
  27. to have SIMTEL20 indexes readily available at Garbo is that I need
  28. to consult them occasionally myself.

  34. Of course it would be technically possible, but I will not do it for
  35. two reasons.  1) The work involved.  2) At Garbo I prefer the
  36. present format.  The SIMTEL20 file list format is Simtel's, the
  37. Garbo format is Garbo's.  No, the way to go about this is what
  38. Michael Sanders is kindly doing for us all right now.  That is
  39. writing and updating a program for Garbo browsing.  In general
  40. terms, I prefer the solution of changing the program to handle a
  41. database rather than changing the data base.
