  12.     Hi netters,

  14.     Last year in the NEC symposium, there was a talk on
  15.     character recognition using handwriting via a pen based
  16.     device, which is used to calculate the dynamics of the
  17.     motion of the pen. Features unique to different characters
  18.     were then extracted based on this dynamics. Multi-layer
  19.     peceptrons were trained to recognize the 
  20.     characters. The talk was by a group from Stanford.
