- $.60/gallon (given $1.20/gallon minus the approximately sixty cents per gallon
- in taxes imposed at the state and federal levels). The main reason gas is
- $3.00 - $5.00 gallon in foreign countries is that for various reasons gas is
- very heavily taxed in Europe.
