- Not quite true... By that time the Chicago Aurora & Elgin was LONG gone.
- The right-of-way we are all discussing here would more aptly be called
- the old Chicago Great Western (a freight carrier) which, at the time of
- the sale was a non-entity, being owned lock, rolling stock and barrel
- by the Chicago North Western. Only the section of the trail between
- Aurora and Elgin was not CGW. The CA&E and the CGW ran parallel from
- Chicago to the Fox River valley area.
