- _]Greetings....

- _]I think I might actually be posting to the most appropriate news groups
- _]now.....
-
- don't feel too bad, it is sometimes a tough call to figure where
- to post.
-
- _]Anyways, I'm conducting some research on the development of electronic
- _]networks in Canada. In doing a literature review, I've found few academic
- _]articles on the sociological or cultural implications of comp networks in
- _]Canada. As you may have guessed, I'm in need of such references.
- _]
- Your big problem is that there is nothing written down about
- stuff that is still in development as we write. You have to
- talk to people who are running the nets to get the info you want.
- You will be writing the papers you want, not reading them
-
- _]If you have any advice or information, as to where I might find such
- _]references, I would really appreciate hearing from you.

- Jud Newell at Canada Remote Systems in Mississauga. Founder
- of CRS (nee RCPM) and the North-Ameri-Net.
- You aso want to talk to the guy (can't remember his name) that
- kicked off Fidonet.
- Both of these BBS/e-mail nets are bigger than Envoy in nodes and traffic,
- although not as big as the internet.
-
- There are 4-5 other nets of various sizes other than these 2.
- Some all-Can others cross border.
-
- You want to talk to people at Bell Can Datapac. Datapac was
- cutting edge stuff back when the internet was a gleam in the
- designers' eyes.
- Talk to Compuserv about the phenom of the CB-Simulator sometime.
- And Genie
- The latter two are avail in Can tho they are US based... still
- _]Thanks.
