- What I mean is all sentient animals. There may be some animals who are not
- any more sentient than plants, though I can't think of any off the top of my
- head. (Part of the problem is that I have seen various conflicting systems
- of kingdoms (of living things) ranging from 2-kingdom systems (plants vs
- animals) to 5-kingdom systems (plants, animals, fungi, and 2 more which I
- forget).)
-
- And as I mentioned earlier, I do realize that in some cases killing animals
- is unavoidable, e.g. in self defence. But for people reading this message,
- killing animals for food is avoidable.

- ObCanadian: Does anyone have the address of Health and Welfare? I'd like
- to get a copy of the new food guide (the one that has been changed in
- response to meat, egg, and milk industry concerns, according to an
- article in the _Star_).
