- Having just made a fool of myself, let me do penance!
-
- Yes, you can. You can add it on to the nbbibnnn.dat file provided you
- do it carefully so that it is correctly structured. Then update the
- bibliography.
-
- The simplest thing might be, instead, to use the same nbbibnnn.dat
- file in all the computers you are working on; then the new data will
- be added correctly, and I think one should have a backup copy of this
- file on another disk anyway. Just copy it across from one machine to
- the other and use the update procedures. I take my laptop into the
- Law library, work on Ibid, save the file onto a disk, copy it across
- to my desktop machine; then before I work again on Ibid on my laptop,
- I make sure that the file is copied across from the desk machine. So
- there is always a backup on a floppy too. I believe in backups with
- passion; I wear a belt and braces, and would push a skewer through my
- navel if I could......
-
- Do others agree with this advice?
