- Exactly the same happens in OS/2, without Windows. I learned, however,
- that that "blank screen" is actually NB still running with loused up video.
- So, when I was fooling with it to see if I could fix it, I learned I didn't
- have to do a cold reboot... with that "blank screen" if I hit the NB-crash
- exit, i.e. CTRL+ALT+SFT+ESC, and then "Y" -- I get out to DOS without resetting
- the machine.
-
- But I haven't been able to figure out how to get past the basic problem...
- I've settled for just "vanilla" ASCII again. I'd also like to hear from
- anyone, besides Paul Bodin (TO WHOM i OWE ENORMOUS THANKS FOR LOTS OF HELP WITH
- OS/2 ALREADY) who has tried running NB (whatever version) from OS/2, -- and
- though not exactly relevant to this list, anyone who has installed an NEC
- CD-ROM driver in OS/2 successfully. (I've obtained a driver, though perhaps
- not exactly the right one, by ftp -- why does that always remind me of sending
- flowers by wire).
