- I have recently plugged a QMS PS-410 laser printer into an Appletalk network
- through the Localtalk connector in back of the QMS. It works fine from a Mac.
- From a NeXT however I've gone through a few reboots to get a Mac Drive mounted
- through the NeXT appleshare.
-
-
- At this point I can use Print Manager to create an new printer choosing the
- appropriate driver and Appletalk which fills in the Zone and Printer Name. When
- I hit the test print, the job gets queued and it says "printing" but it doesn't
- make it any further. I lose the Appleshare connection and an alert occasionally
- comes up stating the printer is unavailable/offline. If I save a Print job to a
- ps file, send it to the Mac and download to the printer from there it comes out
- fine.
-
- The network is simple, Two Macs, one with an Ethernet card and a short piece of
- Thin net to the NeXT. Liaison Router software running on one Mac.
-
-
- Thanks for any insights!
