  25. It's more complex than that... after adding or removing memory (regular or
  26. ESTOR), one has to release and rebuild the processor configuration (which
  27. requires at least a Power-On Reset)...  then, when MVS IPL's, RSM reads the
  28. new storage configuration and knows what new (or different-sized) storage
  29. tables to build (in the old days of MVS/XA(?), if the tables changed enough,
  30. which adding ESTOR for the first time would certainly do, an IPL without CLPA
  31. would fail...  but with the RSM address space in MVS/ESA 3.1.3, a simple IPL
  32. _may_ be sufficient).

  34. Since the processor configuration determines what tables are built, it
  35. doesn't matter much whether the memory is online or not at IPL...
  36. reconfigurable memory (including all ESTOR) can be either offline or
  37. online while the system is up.
