- Why don't you use a fixed baud rate at the modem serial port (maybe 9.6)
- and on the 7171 port. Configure the modem to do buffering but not compression.
- Then you don't need the autobaud on the 7171. Oh- it helps to change the
- speed at which the 7171 does ifficient screen management. It comes default
- at 7200. That means that even 300 bps connections would not get the effecient
- screen updates.
- We have our 7171s connected to a campus wide X.25 network and all ports are
- fixed at 9,600. Almost no problems even for people dialing in at 300.
