  20. Are you sure ALA is still the wave?
  21. IBM has moved to a Character Data Representation Architecture (CECPs) since
  22. 5 years now.
  23. If your NOTIS is able to run a CECP (1047 recommended by codes specialists),
  24. you would add overall Latin-1 support altogether by running a CECP to
  25. ISO 8859-1 translation in your 7171 and you would have less problems in
  26. choosing terminal emulators, as most support ISO 8859-1 on communication
  27. lines, which is now the fast growing standard (when limited to 1-byte codes).
  28. I once proposed to store my setup on a 7171 database server.
