- Are you sure ALA is still the wave?
- IBM has moved to a Character Data Representation Architecture (CECPs) since
- 5 years now.
- If your NOTIS is able to run a CECP (1047 recommended by codes specialists),
- you would add overall Latin-1 support altogether by running a CECP to
- ISO 8859-1 translation in your 7171 and you would have less problems in
- choosing terminal emulators, as most support ISO 8859-1 on communication
- lines, which is now the fast growing standard (when limited to 1-byte codes).
- I once proposed to store my setup on a 7171 database server.
