- Regarding the message on Proquest 4.0 in which there was a tremendous
- slowdown with several concurrent users doing a boolean search, I tested our
- system this morning. I used eight workstations and did one of the problem
- searches noted in the earlier message. We did not show a slowdown in
- performance. We are using a DEC Infoserver on a Novell network. Most
- of the workstations are 386SX's but 3 are 286's. The 286's do get a
- warning message that there may be memory problems but the search software
- does run. We will probably upgrade these in any case.
-
- Now for my question. Does anyone know how to get this to time out to DOS
- so that my menu will come up when people walk away? I understand this is
- an option, but on our system, it seems to time out and reset back to its
- opening screen. What is the secret or am I wrong about this?
