- Well folks, I've been listening in for several months now and have yet
- to see anything about using NFS as a mechanism for delivery of mounted
- CD platters. Is anyone doing this or am I simply suggesting something
- that can't be done?
-
- Basically, I have a Sun Sparc 2 serving as a file server on my TCP/IP
- network. It has a CD player and has been successfully tested to deliver
- mounted volumes to desktop equipment (PC's and Mac's). I am interested
- in whether I can attach a CD stack to this machine and deliver multiple
- CD platters to campus users. I understand that there are licensing issues
- that need to be addressed when networking CD volumes. I am only interested
- in exploring the hardware components and issues.
-
- Feedback?
