  14. For the purposes of preparing heavy atom derivatives we would
  15. like to synthesize dimercury acetate. Sprang and Fletterick
  16. (J. Mol. Biol. (1979), 131, 523-551) report what seems to be a 
  17. simple procedure for doing this. However the compound they prepare
  18. is of low purity. Has anyone improved on their method, or does a 
  19. superior synthesis exist ? Any help would be appreciated.
