  16. The Institute of HeartMath is a non-profit educational and 
  17. research organization located in Boulder Creek, CA. HeartMath 
  18. is a process of self-empowerment, mental and emotional self-
  19. management, that has been researched, proven out and 
  20. practiced for more than a decade and is taught in seminar 
  21. format. This study will research the effectiveness of the 
  22. HeartMath system in enhancing immune system function and 
  23. improving the quality of life. Participants will receive 
  24. techniques for self-maintenance of a healthier immune system. 
  25. Guidance will be provided for physical, emotional, mental, 
  26. and spiritual self-healing and well-being. The Institute has 
  27. several projects under way to research the beneficial effects 
  28. that self-generated feelings of love, care and appreciation 
  29. have on the immune system. Your participation will help you

  42. HeartMath researchers have been able to measure, record and 
  43. correlate the human electrical system to different mental and 
  44. emotional states. The research has shown that when 
  45. individuals self-manage their mental and emotional energies, 
  46. it beneficially affects their heart and brain electricities 
  47. which in turn affects hormonal secretions and their 
  48. perceptions of life. The Institute is also involved with the 
  49. development of tonal patterns that appear to harmonically 
  50. link with the DNA to enhance T-cell strength in people with 
  51. AIDS and other immune disorders.
