- We are doing a joint study here at UC Berkeley. I am not involved in this,
- but what I understand is that there's a half-dozen
- or so ISDN lines coming into the machine room and some people
- are running it in their campus offices and others are testing it
- from home. BUT the home locations have to be the SAME switching/exchange
- office as this campus (I.E. a prefix like 845 that is in the same 642/643
- exchange branch.)
-
- SIGH... My home is in the next switch over (527) and didn't qualify...
-
- The implication here is that they STILL can't / won't supply inter-office
- ISDN lines.
-
- But we wouldn't be looking at it if it wasn't promised for the future.
- A great many faculty live near me in the 527 prefix area. (Kensington/Berkeley)
- cheers .. joe.f.
- Alas I'm not holding my breath on it though!
