- Hmmm ... I guess that all of those red circles under the Japanese
- imports, and the black circles under the domestic-made cars in
- Consumer Reports are just so much anti-protectionist drivel. While
- it is true according the CR that American Carmakers have narrowed
- the quality gap from a canyon to a creek, they go on to say that this
- is largely due to joint ventures such as NUMMI and the practice
- of relabeling imports as domestic made, vis-a-vis Mitsubishi.
-
- And Eric, so you can read the same information, I got this from the CR 1992
- buying guide.
-
- So I'd challenge you to post a list of American cars whose quality
- is comparible to that of the Japanese imports. I'm leaving you a
- wide opening here in the event that such a list exists. I'd only ask
- that you cite a source as impartial as CR, and more substantial than
- "in a magazine in a waiting room".
-
- Just curious. Do you pay attention to issues that don't concern
- markets in which Asians are not beating us? Lets branch out a little,
- shall we? What are your thoughts on a cohesive EC (fat chance, huh?)?
- Or a stronger OPEC (could happen yet)?
