- Yes, what's happened is that 5-10 years ago, the quality of Japanese cars
- was much higher, but the Japanese companies have gotten fat, happy, and
- lazy and inflated their prices a lot, and the American companies have made
- considerable improvements. I'd say the question of which cars are highest
- quality is much trickier these days, and depends on the specific model
- you're talking about (both Japanese and American companies are putting out
- some really well-made cars as well as some crappy ones).
