- I took a friend's advice and bought a VCR cleaning kit at Fry's. Less than $6,
- it contains several lint-free chamois swabs and some cleaning solution. The
- folks in the VCR area don't know that it is on the shelves in the cleaners area.
-
- I removed the top (ignoring the sticker which said "DO NOT REMOVE SCREWS",
- "PELIGROSO", "ACHTUNG! MEINEN", etc.) and an internal cover to get to the drum
- and heads. I swabbed everthing, tried it out, then put it back together. Took
- something like 15 minutes, including the three phone call interruptions.
-
- Works find. Cleaning tape is in trash.
