  19. I read a recent BRW article recently that stated that Australia has the
  20. third largest Foreign Debt in the world. It talked about the US having
  21. a  gigantic National Debt (as opposed to Foreign Debt) which I took
  22. to  mean funds were borrowed onshore, and that this wasn't such a bad
  23. thing.

  25. Another point the BRW article made was that Australia wasn't going to 
  26. solve it's current account problems until our national savings rate
  27. was significantly increased  - our merchanise trade figures are often
  28. in surplus.
