- Hey folks,
-
- First off, let's discuss GIFs. Well, I posted arcwolf1.gif last week.
- Shortly thereafter, Paul McNabola posted a site address for the rest of them.
- So, does anyone out there want me to post the rest of the arcwolf series? I
- know that some of you don't have FTP acceess and posted pictures are thus the
- only ones you can get off the net. On the other hand, there's no need to post
- them if you've already FTP'd them from Paul's site. So, post or E-mail
- requests and I'll see what the general consensus is.
-
- By the way, I've been getting lots of E-mail from people in which
- they desire help for viewing the pictures posted here. While I welcome
- such correspondence, I think you can save yourself a lot of grief if you
- remember a few things:
-
- First of all, the FAQs for every newsgroup that has one are
- available at the aptly named rtfm.mit.edu site, in the directory
- /pub/usenet. I suggest you check the FAQ for alt.binaries.pictures.*, as
- these detail the process of decoding and viewing pictures. Also listed
- within these FAQs are names of sites with viewing software.
-
- Please read this information carefully, as it will no doubt save you
- (and anyone you E-mail for help) a lot of grief and time. If all your efforts
- fail, *then* ask those in-the-know for advice. I can probably help people
- with microcomputer problems (IBM or MAC) but I don't know about viewers for
- SGIs, X Windows, or any other workstation operating systems.
-
- OK. New question. Is anyone working on an FAQ for alt.wolves? Yeah,
- yeah, who'd want it? I know. Our readership is so small (judging by the posting
- volume lately) that anyone who would even subscribe to this group already
- knows plenty about wolves. On the other paw [groan], a simple summary of
- typical discussions here, such as the locations of "wolf parks" open to the
- public, wolf-supporting charities (a personal inquiry of mine) and the
- oft-mentioned wolf-hybrid would be definite FAQ material. So, does anyone want
- to write it (if we decide that we need one)? I'd be happy to, but I don't have
- the necessary information (other than how to get GIFs, and that's probably by
- E-mailing me). If you folks out there want to send it to me, however, then
- I'll get started.
-
- That's all for now,
-

- P.S. Don't forget to E-mail me if you want those arcwolf pics posted.
