- I had some trouble posting, so I wasn't able to reply to this when I
- first saw it. Although the line is that hormone therapy will have no
- effect on male pattern baldness, both another TS and myself have
- experienced some hairline regrowth around the temples. We are both
- in our early 30s, with out too much hair loss. Also, we see a
- well-known Doctor in SF who is known for prescribing "The Cocktail"
- (5mg Premarin/day, 10mg Provera/day, and 0.5mg Estinyl/day). Now
- before anybody gets worked up over these amounts, this doctor is
- well-known and respected by all the other professionals I have encountered.

-
- As I understand it, it is a simple out-patient procedure involving
- "shaving" of the protuding cartilidge, and costs anywhere from one to
- two thousand dollars.

- Female characteristics began showing up in me in the second month of
- therapy, approximately one month after moving up from 2.5mg Premarin
- a day to 5mg. Now, seven months into treatment, I have very
- pronounced female characteristics, including breasts, softer skin,
- hips, and hair growth is beginning to slow.
-
- Emotionally, it has been a very smooth ride. I now experience
- emotions much closer to the surface than I used to. I am also a much
- more patient person. It seems as though I am thinking "differently"
- than I used to, although I can't say exactly how.
