- Salutations all,
- The surf is flat here in sunny southern California, San Diego to be
- specific. BUT the weather IS BEAUTIFUL. It's about 70 degrees and no clouds.
- I haven't heard of any storms around, but I haven't been checking lately
- either. I've had my nose to the computer grindstone.
-
- Well, I'm going to try snowboarding this weekend. I talked to a guy at a ski
- shop and he gave me a few good pointers on how to keep from getting too
- stressed if I don't pick it up quickly. Thought I'd just pass them on since
- they sounded good. These are also based on the fact that I do know how to
- ski already.
-
- 1) Ski for 2/3 of the first day. Then rent a snowboard for the
- last couple/few hours of the day. This way you get a feel
- for the board.
-
- 2) Snowboard for the 2nd day. You should be getting the hang
- of it sometime after lunch probably.
-
- 3) Now choose between skiing or snowboarding.
-
- Hope this helps anyone else that might be thinking of trying it. On another
- note, I'm thinking about getting a new board. I want a 6'8" thruster squash
- tail with a little extra rocker in the front. Anybody got any suggestions on
- good off the rack boards for a decent to good price here in San Diego? All
- comments gratefully appreciated!
-
- Pray for surf
-
- Thanks all,
-
