-
- Bzzt! Wrong answer. Slimness falls in and out of fashion...
- ("Gibson" girl, "Rubinesque" body type, etc. are examples of
- non-slim ideals which have existed).
-
- Muscles on women (in fact, anything but soft, mushy skin) have
- often been considered ugly. Look at some old movies sometime.
-
- It is evolutionarily advantageous for a woman to have a cushion
- of fat around her hips and thighs (fertility reasons) and to
- have a large, wide pelvis (so as not to die in childbirth).
-
- I would agree that finding really thin women attractive *is*
- a learned trait, not an inherent one, given the above--a
- consequence of TV and stuff. Nothing blatant. Go read (or
- reread) Heinlein's _Stranger in a Strange Land_ for a great
- discussion about cannibalism, and apply it to this situation,
- the relevant part is about 1/3 of the way through the original
- version. [too lazy to type it in :-) ]
-
- Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with having
- preferences--I happen to think that trim, fit, muscular (but
- not overly so) people are very physically appealing. However,
- insisting that your and others' preferences aren't influenced
- by media/ads/etc. is pretty ridiculous...
-
- Now back to the regularly scheduled whatever-it-is-you-people-
- usually-do-here... :-) :-)
