- 1 - GET A FRANKLIN PLANNER. Call me at (413)546-5152 or email at
- bpheintz@ucsvax.ucs.umass.edu if you don't know where to get one.
- Franklin Planners are the single best time-organizing tool I have
- ever seen, and I've tried a bunch. Accept no imitations.
-
- 2 - I've heard psych types say that if you do something twelve times in a row,
- it becomes a habit. I don't know how true that is, but I do know that
- personal change takes a concerted effort and the determination to do it
- right until it's done.
-
- 3 - My theory: Habits are a survival mechanism. Animals have them as well.
- If there's a thing you must do over and over, it becomes automatic and
- more efficient, leaving you time to do important stuff like eating and
- reproducing the species. Martial arts, yoga, and commercial advertising
- all make use of this - reproduce an input enough times, and the slightest
- stimulus will set in motion the practiced chain of thought or action.
- Obviously, this can work for or against you.
