  19. What possible legal reason?  Suppose I want to call several businesses to
  20. check their prices and services.  Why should I have to tell them my name,
  21. address, and phone number?  Would they require the same info of someone who
  22. walked in the door and asked for prices and services?

  24. I have a "legal" reason: I don't want them to sell my name (like yours
  25. obviously was) to slime buckets who call me during dinner twice a week to
  26. sell me siding and insulated windows.  That's my reason.

  28. Calling individuals, though, I can see how it could be considered impolite
  29. to call with your number blocked.  Fine.  Don't answer (or have the TelCo
  30. play a message saying your line won't accept blocked calls).  If I want to
  31. talk with you, I'll unblock my line and call again - of course, where I
  32. live I can't block my line at all for any price so it's a moot point.
